Abstract: The Annual Conference of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) provides an opportunity for those interested in the development and application of mass spectrometry to present and learn about new research and ideas. This year the Conference was held in San Antonio, Texas, from June 4 to June 9, with an attendance of about 6,000. The Conference was host to special topics short courses, workshops, interest group meetings, and manufacturers' forums, as well as a carefully prepared scientific program composed of 1,849 posters and 762 oral presentations. Abstracts from these presentations will become part of the Conference's Proceedings, which will be sent to those attending the Conference and those who are members of the ASMS. Highlights of this Conference will be presented.
